Title
AN ORDINANCE relating to the Community Development Block Grant program, authorizing the executive to enter into interlocal cooperation agreements with suburban cities.
Body
STATEMENT OF FACTS:
1.  King County receives an annual Community Development Block Grant entitlement grant and related federal funds from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.
2.  Federal regulations allow cities that do not qualify for their own entitlement grants to participate with the county in an urban county consortium, which allows for the county to undertake housing and community development activities in the participating cities and increases the amount of the federal entitlement grant.
3.  To participate in the urban county consortium, cities must enter into three-year interlocal cooperation agreements with the county, agreeing to cooperate in undertaking housing and community development activities.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
SECTION 1.  The King County executive is hereby authorized to enter into interlocal cooperation agreements substantially in the form of the agreement attached to this ordinance, with the following suburban cities: Algona, Beaux Arts, Black Diamond, Bothell, Burien, Carnation, Clyde Hill, Covington, Des Moines, Duvall, Enumclaw, Hunts Point, Issaquah, Kenmore, Kirkland, Lake Forest Park, Maple Valley, Medina,

Mercer Island, Newcastle, Normandy Park, North Bend, Pacific, Redmond, Sammamish, SeaTac, Skykomish, Snoqualmie, Tukwila, Woodinville and Yarrow Point.
