AN ORDINANCE authorizing the King County executive to execute an interlocal agreement with the city of Carnation for the King County road services division to provide road-related services on an "as-requested" basis.

STATEMENT OF FACTS:
1.  The city of Carnation has the legal responsibility to repair and maintain the public roads and traffic devices within its service area.
2.  The city of Carnation requests that the King County road services division provide road-related services on an "as-requested" basis.
3.  King County road services division is willing and able to perform such services for the city of Carnation.
4.  The parties can achieve cost savings and benefits that are in the public's interest by having the King County road services division provide such services that the city of Carnation requests, at the city of Carnation's expense.
5.  Chapter 39.34 RCW authorizes the counties to enter into an interlocal cooperation agreement such as Attachment A to this ordinance.
      BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
      SECTION 1.  The authorization of the county executive to execute an interlocal agreement with the city of Carnation for the King County road services division to provide road-related services on an "as-requested" basis, substantially in the form of Attachment A to this ordinance, is hereby approved.
