Title

A RESOLUTION identifying the King County board of health's selected nonelected member candidates to begin serving in 2024.

Body

                     WHEREAS, in accordance with R.C.W. 70.05.035, the King County board of health shall have an equal number of elected to nonelected members, with one of the nonelected members to be selected by the American Indian Health Commission for Washington State, and the remaining members selected by the King County board of health from three specific categories of interests:  public health, health care facilities, and providers; consumers of public health; and other community stakeholders, and

                     WHEREAS, as a result of vacancies, the King County board of health has conducted a recruitment, selection, and appointment in accordance with chapter 246-90 WAC, BOH chapter 2.04, and K.C.C. chapter 2.35, and

                     WHEREAS, the King County board of health has selected applicants who will represent community stakeholders to enhance the board's efforts to preserve and protect the public's health;

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Health of King County:

                     A.  The board of health recommends Christopher Archiopoli, to serve as a representative of community stakeholders, for a three-year term to expire on December 31, 2026.

                     B.  The board of health recommends Francoise Milinganyo, to serve as an alternate representative of community stakeholders, for a three-year term to expire on December 31, 2026.

                     C.  The candidates selected by the board were recruited and selected in accordance with chapter 246-90 WAC pertaining to Local Board of Health Membership and each candidate selection meets the qualifications and requirements of RCW 70.05.035(1)(a).

                     D.  In accordance with K.C.C. 2.35.024, the board will transmit to the King County council this resolution along with the biography and application materials for

each of the members selected by the board, and the board's nonelected member profile for consideration and confirmation.
