A MOTION adopting the 2018 work plan for the mobility committee.

Body

                     WHEREAS, the responsibilities of the mobility committee for 2018 are detailed in Motion 15110, and

                     WHEREAS, Motion 15110 charges the mobility committee with considering and making policy recommendations relating to transportation, including roads, passenger ferries and public transportation, as well as the implementation of appropriate labor contracts and the review of relevant issues at the state, regional and federal levels, and

                     WHEREAS, the committee's work plan must incorporate a robust definition of mobility that includes a vision for how people and goods will move around the region in the future, and

WHEREAS, the committee's work must advance regional coordination, including integration with the efforts of Sound Transit, other transit agencies, local governments and community groups, and

WHEREAS, the committee's work must guide the efforts of King County in using new and existing technologies so as to enhance environmental and equity and social justice goals, and

WHEREAS, the committee's work must encourage efficiency and convenience for riders, innovative practices and standards in the efforts undertaken by King County, and

                     WHEREAS, the committee has developed a work plan for 2018 to achieves its goals and facilitate its review and development of policy options and recommendations on these issues, and

                     WHEREAS, the committee seeks full council support for its work plan;

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:

                     The mobility committee's 2018 work plan, Attachment A to this motion, is hereby adopted.
