Title

AN ORDINANCE amending the code to allow for the assessment and collection of postage fees for mailing King County district court record requests; and adding a new section to K.C.C. chapter 4A.634.

STATEMENT OF FACTS:  The King County district court prepares and mails records requests.  To streamline this process, the court needs to charge a flat postage fee for each transaction.

                     BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:

                     SECTION 1.  Section 2 of this ordinance authorizes the King County district court to assess a postage fee for mailing court records, at a rate of three dollars per transaction.

                     NEW SECTION.  SECTION 2.  There is hereby added to K.C.C. chapter 4A.634 a new section to read as follows:

                     The district court is hereby authorized to assess a postage fee of three dollars per transaction.
