A MOTION authorizing the county executive to enter into an interlocal agreement with the city of Kenmore relating to the King County department of development and environmental services rendering building permits and land use applications.

WHEREAS, the city and county had executed an interlocal agreement relating to county processing of building permits, land use applications and code enforcement services within the city's jurisdiction ("the August 31, 1998, interlocal agreement"), and
WHEREAS, the county and city have determined that having county staff continue to process those applications and perform code enforcement activities on behalf of the city in the manner specified by the August 31, 1998, interlocal agreement will allow for the most efficient and orderly process, and
WHEREAS, the department of development and environmental services is authorized by Section 120 of the King County Charter and K.C.C. 11.02.030 to render the services and is agreeable to rendering the services on the terms and conditions set forth in an interlocal agreement and in consideration of payments, mutual covenants and agreements, and
WHEREAS, this agreement is authorized by the Interlocal Agreement Act, chapter 39.34 RCW;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
The county executive is hereby authorized to execute an interlocal agreement,
substantially in the form attached to this motion, with the city of Kenmore for the county to render building permits and land use applications.
