Title
A MOTION appointing committees to write a voters pamphlet statement for the August 7, 2012 special election regarding Ordinance 17304 providing for the submission to the electorate of King County, at a special election on August 7, 2012, of a proposed amendment lift the limit on property taxes for the purpose of funding a replacement of the county's youth services center.
Body
      WHEREAS, K.C.C. chapter 1.10 provides for the publication and distribution of local voters pamphlets in conformity with the provisions of chapter 29.81A RCW for annual general elections held in King County, and
      WHEREAS, RCW 29.81A.080 provides that for each measure from a jurisdiction that is included in a local voters pamphlet, the legislative authority of that jurisdiction shall formally appoint a committee to prepare arguments advocating voter approval of the measure and a committee to prepare arguments advocating voter rejection of the measure, and
      WHEREAS, Ordinance 173048 provides for submission to the voters on August 7, 2012, of a proposed nine year property tax levy for the construction of a new children and family justice center;
      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
      The following individuals are appointed to serve on the voters pamphlet committee to write a statement for and against the proposed ordinance:
