Title
A MOTION authorizing a salary adjustment for the King County Flood Control District executive director.
Body
WHEREAS, chapter 86.15 RCW authorizes the King County council to initiate the creation of special purpose flood control zone districts for the purpose of undertaking, operating or maintaining flood control projects or storm water control projects, among other powers, and
WHEREAS, in 2007, the county created the King County Flood Control Zone District (the "district"), governed by a board of supervisors (the "board"), and
WHEREAS, up to September 2016, the district was run day-to-day by an employee of the district, its executive director, and
WHEREAS, in June 2016, by Motion FDECM2016-5, the board’s executive committee updated the position description for the executive director, and
WHEREAS, in September 2016, the staffing for the district, including the executive director position, was transferred to a flood control district administration unit, established in legislative branch for its employees to exclusively provide support for the King County Flood Control District, and
WHEREAS, by Motion 14782 the council appointed Michelle Clark as the district executive director at a pay range 133, step 3, beginning on December 19, 2016, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with section 3-035.C. of the council’s organizational motion compilation, job descriptions and classifications for employees in the district administrative unit are to be authorized by motion by the council, and
WHEREAS, the flood district executive committee has reviewed the revision to the salary step and range for the executive director position description;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
The council authorizes a salary adjustment for the Flood Control District
executive director, Michelle Clark, at a pay range 133, step 12, effective on the passage of this motion.
