Title

A MOTION authorizing the chair to enter into a contract for the King County Flood Control District's Lower Green River Corridor Visioning Committee Facilitator Services.

Body

                     WHEREAS, the Lower Green River is home to approximately 22,000 people and 100,000 jobs, and

                     WHEREAS, the Corridor includes major transportation routes and public facilities including hospitals, schools, farmland, parks, trails, and natural areas, and

                     WHEREAS, it benefits the residents of King County if the Lower Green River valley is a safe place to live, fish, work, farm, and play for generations to come, and

                     WHEREAS, the Lower Green River flows through the cities of Auburn, Kent, Renton, and Tukwila as well as Unincorporated King County, and

                     WHEREAS, it benefits the residents of King County for these local governments define a vision for the land uses along the river in order to create a wholistic and integrated environment that supports multibenefits, and

                     WHEREAS, the District created the Lower Green River Corridor Visioning Committee to further define the vision of these local governments, and

                     WHEREAS, the District desires to enter into an agreement for the Lower Green River Corridor Visioning Committee Facilitator Services;

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED BY THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE KING COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT:

                     SECTION 1.  The chair of the King County Flood Control Zone District is authorized to enter into the "King County Flood Control District Lower Green River Corridor Visioning Committee Facilitator Services," Attachment A to this motion.
