AN ORDINANCE authorizing the county executive to enter into amended interlocal cooperation agreements with jurisdictions participating in the King County Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnerships Programs.
body
      STATEMENT OF FACTS:
1.  Since 1975, the county has received federal housing and community development funds on behalf of King County and participating suburban cities; in 2004 the county is receiving approximately $7.2 million in Community Development Block Grant dollars and approximately $4.5 million in HOME Investment Partnerships dollars.
2.  King County and participating suburban cities have signed interlocal cooperation agreements that address administration of these and other funds, and that provide for an interjurisdictional joint recommendations committee to guide the program's investments.
3.  Between 1990 and 2000, the suburban cities' share of the county's population outside of Seattle rose from forty-eight percent to seventy percent, and as a result it is desirable to change the composition of the joint recommendations committee to increase suburban cities' representation.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
SECTION 1.  The county executive is hereby authorized to enter into amended interlocal cooperation agreements with those cities participating in the King County Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnerships Programs.

The amendments shall be in substantially the same form as the amendments attached to this ordinance.
