A MOTION approving the executive's response to a King County council budget proviso requesting department of transportation, airport division, to provide an airport rescue and firefighting feasibility analysis.

      WHEREAS, in the 2004 Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 14797, the county council directed the department of transportation, airport division, to conduct an evaluation for review of the airport rescue and firefighting ("ARFF") and security services provided at the airport by the King County sheriff's office, and
      WHEREAS, the sheriff's office currently provides airport rescue and firefighting services as well as law enforcement and some operational services to the King County international airport, and
      WHEREAS, these services are provided on a contractual basis through a memorandum of understanding, and
      WHEREAS, the airport rescue and firefighting analysis evaluates firefighting service levels, and compliance with current and impending federal regulatory requirements, and
      WHEREAS, the airport rescue and firefighting analysis makes recommendations on the appropriate level of fire protection and security for the King County international airport;
      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
 
      The King County council hereby approves the King County International Airport Boeing Field ARFF Feasibility Analysis, Attachment A to this motion.
