Title
A MOTION authorizing the Chair to execute a Professional Services Agreement for special legal services with Baker Sterchi Cowden & Rice, LLC.
Body
WHEREAS, the King County Flood Control Zone District receives legal services by contract for general counsel, and
WHEREAS, general counsel is not available to provide representation for a pending legal matter, and
WHEREAS, the District has identified the law firm of Baker Sterchi Cowden & Rice, LLC ("Firm") with demonstrated experience in the relevant area of law is necessary to adequately protect the District’s legal interests, and
WHEREAS, the District desires to authorize the Chair to execute a Professional Services Agreement with the Firm for these services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE KING COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT:
SECTION 1. The Chair is authorized to execute a Professional Services Agreement for legal services and to take all actions necessary to effectuate this motion. The Board ratifies, approves and confirms any and all prior actions taken that are
consistent with the intent of this motion. The Board affirmatively waives the requirement for formal procurement for this service, as set out in the adopted policies.
