A RESOLUTION relating to the Boeing levee improvements in the City of Kent, repealing resolution FCD2011-15.1, and authorizing the chair to enter into a grant agreement with the State of Washington Department of Ecology.
Body
WHEREAS, pursuant to 2011-2013 Washington State Legislature EHB 1969 and section 3035 of the State of Washington Capital Budget for the Boeing Levee, the King County Flood Control District is eligible for a state grant of $2,070,000 to improve the Boeing Levee; and
WHEREAS, the District plans to apply the state grant to assist the City of Kent in constructing a new levee segment and levee wall to provide protection from high flows in the Green River between River Mile 17.00 to 17.84; and
WHEREAS, the District authorized the chair through resolution FCD2011-15.1 to enter into a grant agreement with the State of Washington to obtain the state grant and implement the Boeing Levee improvements; and
WHEREAS, the State of Washington substantially revised the terms and conditions of the grant agreement; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors desires to repeal resolution FCD2011-15.1 and authorize the chair of the District to enter into the revised grant agreement; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE KING COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT:
SECTION 1. Resolution FCD2011-15.1 is repealed.
SECTION 2. The chair of the King County Flood Control Zone District is authorized to enter into the Washington State Department of Ecology Grant Agreement No. G1200303 between the State of Washington Department of Ecology and the King County Flood District, substantially in the form of Attachment A to this resolution.
