Title
AN ORDINANCE related to service fees to participants of the continuing legal education program provided by the department of judicial administration; and amending Ordinance 13330, Section 24, and K.C.C. 4.71.090.
Body
      BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
      SECTION 1.  A.  Section 2 of this ordinance authorizes the department of judicial administration to assess a fee for participation in the department's continuing legal education program and to allow people who are not attorneys to participate.
      B.  The fee in section 3 of this ordinance is assessed as authorized under section 2 of this ordinance.
      SECTION 2.  The department of judicial administration is hereby authorized to assess a fee to participants, attorneys and non-attorneys alike, in the department's continuing legal education program.
      SECTION 3.  Ordinance 13330, Section 24, and K.C.C. 4.71.090 are each hereby amended to read as follows:
      The department of judicial administration is hereby authorized to assess a fee to ((attorneys who participate)) participants in the department's continuing legal education program.  The fee assessed for participation in the program shall be ((one)) two hundred dollars to cover all costs of materials and presentation.
      SECTION 4.  This ordinance takes effect January 1, 2011.
