STATEMENT OF FACTS:
1. The Lake Washington school district filed an application for a new sewer franchise to operate and maintain an exclusive, tightline sewer pipeline connecting Wilder Elementary School to the city of Redmond's sewer system, in council district three.
2. The King County council approved the city of Redmond's comprehensive sewer plan amendment, in Ordinance 16578, pursuant to the recommendation of the King County utilities technical review committee.
3. The utilities technical review committee has approved the Lake Washington school district's franchise application as meeting the requirements of K.C.C. 6.27.060 and 13.24.010.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
SECTION 1. The King County council, having determined that the Lake Washington school district's application meets the criteria for the granting of a sewer franchise and that said granting is in the best interests of the public, does hereby approve the franchise agreement set out in Attachment A to this ordinance and authorizes the King County executive to execute the same in substantially the same form as Attachment A to this ordinance.
SECTION 2. If within forty five days after the granting of this franchise amendment agreement, the applicant shall have failed to sign the written acceptance
incorporated herein, then the rights and privileges granted herein shall be forfeited and said franchise shall be null and void.
