AN ORDINANCE relating to the county property tax levies for collection in 2024, and implementing RCW 84.55.120.

                     BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:

                     SECTION 1.  The council is under an obligation by charter to enact revenue measures that support the budget appropriation ordinance by December 1, 2023, for the 2024 budget.  This ordinance sets the amount of property tax to be collected for the regular property tax levy, the transit levy, the road district levy, the conservation futures levy, the emergency medical services levy and the marine levy.  In accordance with RCW 84.55.120, the council has given proper notice of this ordinance to the public.

                     SECTION 2.  For collection of the property tax levies in 2024, the council hereby authorizes property tax changes compared to the amounts authorized for collection in 2023 as follows:

The changes shown above are exclusive of any amounts resulting from new construction valued in 2023, any increases in value of state-assessed property for 2024 and any amounts necessary to fund tax refunds paid in 2023.

                     SECTION 3.  Upon enactment, the clerk is directed to forward this ordinance to the assessor in accordance with RCW 84.52.070.
