A RESOLUTION relating to the Reddington levee project on the Green River in the city of Auburn, and authorizing the chair to enter into an interlocal agreement with the city of Auburn for conveyance of easements related to the project.

WHEREAS, the King County Flood Control Zone District's ("District") comprehensive plan recommends a project on the left (west) bank of the Green River in the city of Auburn ("City") between 26th Street Northeast and South 277th Street to set back and extend the Reddington levee ("Reddington Levee Project"); and
WHEREAS, the Reddington Levee Project will address significant flood risks to people, property and infrastructure within the City and will provide important flood protection measures to the citizens of the City; and
WHEREAS, in order to construct, operate and maintain the Reddington Levee Project, the District needs to acquire interests in certain property owned by the City; and
WHEREAS, the City is willing to convey to the District such interests in the City’s real property; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors desires to enter into an agreement with the City regarding acquisition by the District of such interests in the City’s real property; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE KING COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT:
SECTION 1. The chair of the King County Flood Control Zone District is authorized to enter into the "City of Auburn, King County and King County Flood Control Zone District Interlocal Agreement for Conveyance of Easements Associated with the Reddington Levee Extension and Setback Project," Attachment A to this Resolution.
SECTION 2. The King County Flood Control Zone District shall only accept easements from the city of Auburn in the form attached, Attachment B to this resolution, except for completing the form with the appropriate property description for each easement granted and accepted.
