AN ORDINANCE relating to the county property tax levies for collection in 2004, and implementing RCW 84.55.120.

      SECTION 1.  The council is under an obligation by charter to enact revenue measures that support the budget appropriation ordinance by December 1, 2003, for the 2004 budget.  This ordinance sets the amount of property tax to be collected for the regular property tax levy, the road district levy, the conservation futures levy and the emergency medical services levy.  In accordance with RCW 84.55.120, the council has given proper notice of this ordinance to the public.
      SECTION 2.  For collection of the property tax levies in 2004, the council hereby authorizes property tax increases over the amounts authorized for collection in 2003 as follows:

The increases shown above are exclusive of any amounts resulting from new construction valued in 2003, any increases in value of state-assessed property for 2003 and any amounts necessary to fund tax refunds paid in 2003.  The increase in the regular levy includes an estimated $11,297,625 (exclusive of new construction) to be levied in accordance with a voter-approved lid lift for parks and recreation purposes.
 
      SECTION 3.  Upon enactment, the clerk is directed to forward this ordinance to the assessor in accordance with RCW 84.52.070.
