Title

A MOTION relating to the appointment of John Koopman to the board of commissioners of King County drainage district No. 6.

Body

                     WHEREAS, King County drainage district No. 6 is authorized to undertake drainage control, storm water control and surface water control activities, including acquisition and maintenance of drains, ditches, canals, nonsanitary sewers, pumps and other works and appliances, machinery and equipment, and

                     WHEREAS, the jurisdiction of King County drainage district No. 6 is generally bounded by Enumclaw-Buckley Road SE, SR 410, Roosevelt Avenue East, 268th Avenue SE, Bondgard Avenue East, SE 456th Street, 284th Avenue SE, SE 464th Street, 286th Avenue SE, SE 472nd Street, SE 481st Street, SE Mud Mountain Road, and 248th Avenue SE in Enumclaw, and

                     WHEREAS, King County drainage district No. 6 is governed by a three-member board of commissioners, each of whom must be a "qualified voter of the special district" as provided by RCW 85.38.010(3);

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the council of King County:

                     John Koopman satisfies the definition of qualified voter of King County drainage district No. 6 under RCW 85.38.010(3) and is hereby appointed to fill vacancy of Position 1 on the King County drainage district No. 6 board of commissioners until the date Position 1 is filled, in accordance with the election provisions of chapter 85.38 RCW.  The appointee shall enter into a bond of one thousand dollars, payable to the special district, that meets the requirements of RCW 85.38.080 and which shall be filed with the King County council clerk.
