Title
A MOTION authorizing the chair of the council to enter into a contract for services to provide professional research services to the King County commission on governance.
Body
      WHEREAS, Ordinance 14514 created the King County commission on governance and outlines the responsibilities of the commission, and
      WHEREAS, the King County commission on governance is charged with examining and making recommendations to the council and executive regarding services funded by the current expense fund, including how the services are provided and funded, and
      WHEREAS, the King County commission on governance is charged with examining and making recommendations to the council and executive regarding the county's governance structure and governance policies, and
      WHEREAS, Ordinance 14514 calls for the commission to identify both a facilitation consultant and a research consultant to support the work of the commission, and
      WHEREAS, after sending out the request for proposal, Berk & Associates was recommended by the commission to provide research services;
      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
      The chair of the metropolitan King County council is authorized to enter into a contract, in accord with the request for proposal attached to this motion and in an amount
 
not to exceed forty thousand dollars, with Berk & Associates to provide research services in support of the work of the King County commission on governance.
