AN ORDINANCE reauthorizing an emergency medical services advisory task force to provide review of recommended independent studies during the 2014-2019 levy period.

STATEMENT OF FACTS:
1. An emergency medical services advisory task force has traditionally provided strategic plan and financial recommendations for future Medic One/EMS levies.
2. An emergency medical services advisory task force was established by King County Ordinance 15862 to develop interjurisdictional agreement on an emergency medical services strategic plan and financing package for the 2014-2019 levy period.
3. The emergency medical services advisory task force was composed of elected officials or selected representatives of cities and fire districts, and completed the work with which it was charged in King County Ordinance 15862.
3. The role of the emergency medical services advisory task force was expanded during deliberations of the Emergency Medical Services 2014-2019 strategic plan to include review of recommended independent studies during the levy period.
5. There is now a need to reestablish the task force to complete these supplementary duties.
6. The role of the task force has been crucial in ensuring that future programs will meet the systemic needs of the countywide provision of emergency services.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
SECTION 1. The emergency medical services advisory task force is hereby reestablished to review independent studies as directed by the adopted emergency medical services 2014-2019 strategic plan.
SECTION 2. A. The emergency medical services advisory task force shall consist of the following members:
1. The King County executive or the executive's designee;
2. Two members of the county council or either or both members' designees;
3. One representative from each city with a population of fifty thousand or greater, who shall be selected by the city;
