A MOTION authorizing the executive to accept a donation of training manual reproduction services from Worthington Insurance Agency to the King County sheriff's office.

      WHEREAS, the sheriff's office has a commitment to community policing and to crime prevention, and
      WHEREAS, public education is an important aspect of community policing and crime prevention, and
      WHEREAS, the sheriff's office has developed a crime free multi-housing training class designed to educate landlords and property managers in ways to prevent or reduce crime from occurring on their property, and
      WHEREAS, the sheriff's office established training for managers of multi-housing complexes as a performance measure for the department, and
      WHEREAS, Worthington Insurance Agency has offered to fund the reproduction of thirty manuals for a crime free multi-housing training class at an estimated cost of three hundred dollars as a public service, and
      WHEREAS, these manuals would assist in providing public education;
      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
      The King County sheriff's office is authorized to accept a donation of thirty copies of a landlord training program manual from Worthington Insurance Agency.
