Title

AN ORDINANCE creating the department of local services King County transportation district fund; and adding a new section to K.C.C. chapter 4A.200.

STATEMENT OF FACTS:

1.  The King County transportation district, as established in Ordinance 17746, approved Resolution TD2026-01 imposing a one-tenth of one percent sales and use tax to raise revenue to pay for transportation improvements, authorized by chapter 36.73 RCW, and intended to further the King County transportation district transportation plan, with moneys from the tax to be collected beginning in 2027.

2.  Resolution TD2026-01 distributed twelve and a half percent of the sales and use tax revenues, after deducting for administrative costs incurred by the King County transportation district, to the City Transportation Improvement Program for distribution to receiving cities within the boundaries of the King County transportation district and the remaining revenues to the department of local services, road services division, for transportation improvements.

                     BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:

                     NEW SECTION.  SECTION 1.  There is hereby added to K.C.C. chapter 4A.200 a new section to read as follows:

                     A.  There is hereby created the department of local services King County transportation district fund.

                     B.  The fund shall be a first tier fund.  It is a special revenue fund.

                     C.  The director of the department of local services shall be the manager of the fund.

                     D.  The fund shall receive all proceeds of an additional one-tenth of one percent sales and use tax imposed by the King County transportation district in Resolution TD2026-01 and as authorized by chapter 36.73 RCW, to raise revenue to pay for transportation improvements.

                     E.  All moneys in the fund shall be used for the purpose authorized in Resolution TD2026-01.
