      PREAMBLE:
At the June 27, 2003, meeting of the King County District Court elected officials, a vote was taken on the question of whether or not to change the structure of court probation services.  This meeting was held in accordance with LARLJ (Local Administrative Rule for Courts of Limited Jurisdiction, King County) 0.3; voting was held in accordance with the mandate of LARLJ 0.4; and a quorum was determined pursuant to LARLJ 0.6.   Among the King County District Court elected officials present at the June 27, 2003 meeting, the vote was unanimous in favor of replacing the current probation structure and placing King County District Court Probation services under the judicial function model of Judge managed, supervised Probation.
      BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
      SECTION 1.  Ordinance 4549, Section 3, Ordinance 9282, Section 2, Ordinance 14374, Section 2, and K.C.C. 2.68.020 are each hereby repealed.
      SECTION 2.  Existing employees of the division of probation who were hired prior to October 22, 1979, and who remain with the new judicially managed system of supervised probation, and who pursuant to Ordinance 4549 are being provided with employment rights at least equivalent to those which they were accorded under the career
 
service system as established by Article 5 of the King County Charter, shall continue to be provided with such employment rights.
