AN ORDINANCE authorizing the King County executive to execute an interlocal agreement with the city of Kent allowing the King County road services division to provide road-related services on an as requested basis.

STATEMENT OF FACTS:
1.  The city of Kent has the legal responsibility to repair and maintain its public roads and traffic devices within its service area.
2.  The city of Kent has requested that King County road services division provide road-related services on an as requested basis.
3.  King County road services division is willing and able to perform such services for the city of Kent.
4.  The parties can achieve cost savings and benefits in the public's interest by having King County road services division complete those services for the city of Kent at the city of Kent's expense.
5.  Chapter 39.34 RCW authorizes the counties to enter into an interlocal cooperation agreement such as Attachment A to this ordinance.
      BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
      SECTION 1.  The county executive is hereby authorized to execute an interlocal agreement, substantially in the form of Attachment A to this ordinance, with the city of Kent to provide road-related services as requested.
