AN ORDINANCE authorizing the King County executive to enter into a twenty-year concession agreement between King County and DubSea Sports and Entertainment, Inc. for the scheduling of collegiate baseball games and the provision of concession services at Mel Olson Stadium at Steve Cox Memorial park.

STATEMENT OF FACTS:
1. The Parks Business Plan directs the parks and recreation division of the department of natural resources and parks to work in partnership with organizations to organize community events and provide concession services that generate revenue for the parks and recreation division.
2. DubSea Sports and Entertainment, Inc. ("concessionaire") is an experienced concessionaire, and since 2015, has successfully organized collegiate baseball games and provided concession services for other community events at Mel Olson Stadium.
3. King County supports concessionaire's desire to organize collegiate baseball games and provide concession services for other community events in exchange for which concessionaire will perform specific supplemental maintenance tasks at the facility and may make additional capital improvements at Mel Olson Stadium.
4. Concessionaire is committed to performing certain mutually agreed upon supplemental maintenance tasks and contributing to additional capital improvements for the Facility which will address regional recreation needs without additional tax-funded operations and maintenance costs to King County.
5. King County and concessionaire desire to enter into a twenty-year concession agreement that will authorize concessionaire to organize collegiate baseball games and provide concession services for other community events at Mel Olson Stadium described in Attachment A to this ordinance, which will provide the parks and recreation division with long-term revenue, capital investment, and supplemental maintenance support.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:
SECTION 1. The King County executive is hereby authorized to enter a concession agreement between the King County parks and recreation division and DubSea Sports and Entertainment, Inc. substantially in the form of Attachment A to this
ordinance, for organizing collegiate baseball games and providing concession services for other community events at Mel Olson Stadium.
