A MOTION appointing the members of the King County citizens' election oversight committee.

      WHEREAS, in Ordinance 14711 the metropolitan King County council established the King County citizens' election oversight committee ("CEOC"), and
      WHEREAS, the CEOC reviewed the conduct of the 2002 and 2003 elections in King County, identifying problems and making recommendations, and
      WHEREAS, the CEOC expired after it made its report to the council, and
      WHEREAS, further problems occurred in the 2004 general election and in the spring special election in 2005, and
      WHEREAS, the council values the previous hard work of the CEOC members and in Ordinance 15157 established a new CEOC to review the 2004 general election and the spring 2005 special election;
      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
      The following persons are appointed to the King County citizens' election oversight committee:
      A.  AJ Culver as the representative of a nonpartisan organization active in King County that evaluates candidates and ballot measures;
      B.  Joan Thomas as a representative from a nonpartisan organization active in King County that provides elections information to the public;
      C.  Susanna Chung as a representative of the Chinese-speaking community;
      D.  Gurine Nordby as representative from the King County Democratic Party;
      E.  Monica Tracey as a representative from the King County Republican Party;
      F.  Michael Snyder as a representative from the Washington state Democratic Party;
      G.  Peter Abbarno as a representative from the Washington state Republican Party;
      H.  Randy Matheson as a representative from a junior taxing district;
      I.  Sheryl Moss as an ex officio, nonvoting representative from the Office of the Secretary of State;
      J.  Evelyn Arnold as an ex officio, nonvoting representative from the Washington State Association of County Auditors;
      K.  Paul Guppy as a representative of an independent research and policy institute;
 
      L.  John Davidson as a representative of King County registered voters; and
      M.  Ellen Hanson as a representative of King County registered voters.
