Title

A MOTION confirming the executiveʹs appointment of the members of the King County children and families strategy task force in accordance with Motion 15521.

Body

                     WHEREAS, Motion 15521 established the King County children and families strategy task force to explore policy recommendations related to child care affordability and access in King County, and

                     WHEREAS, the children and families strategy task force will be tasked with preparing a report that makes recommendations for addressing access and affordability issues related to child care in King County, and

                     WHEREAS, the members of the task force shall be appointed by the executive and confirmed by the council, and

                     WHEREAS, the county executive has appointed the following members to the King County children and families strategy task force:

                     1.  Lois Martin, who resides in district two, as a representative of an organization representing the interests of licensed child care centers;

                     2.  Patricia Bailey, who resides in district two, as a representative of an organization representing the interests of licensed in-home child care provider;

                     3.  John Bancroft, who resides in district two, as a representative of an organization providing childcare services as a family, friend, and or neighbor child care provider in King County;

                     4.  Maki Park, who resides in district two, as a representative of an organization or individual representing parents who utilize child care on a regular basis;

                     5.  Casey Osborn-Hinman, who resides in district two, as a representative of an organization or individual representing parents who utilize child care on a regular basis;

                     6.  Tiʹesh Harper, who resides in district five, as a representative of an organization or individual representing parents who utilize child care on a regular basis;

                     7.  Ruth Kagi, who resides in district four, as a representative of an organization representing the interests of philanthropy;

                     8.  Karen Hart, who resides in district two, as a representative of an organization representing the interests of labor;

                     9.  Nela Cumming, who resides in district three, as a representative of an organization providing child care services in rural or unincorporated King County;

                     10.  Ryan Quigtar, who resides in district two, as a representative of an organization providing child care services in rural or unincorporated King County;

                     11.  Susan Yang, who resides in district six, as a representative of an organization providing multicultural, bilingual curriculum in either the preschool care program setting or the after-school care program setting, or both, in King County;

                     12.  Gloria Hodge, who resides in district two, as a representative of an organization providing multicultural, bilingual curriculum in either the preschool care program setting or the after-school care program setting, or both, in King County;

                     13.  Bilan Aden, who resides in district eight, as a representative of an organization providing multicultural, bilingual curriculum in either the preschool care program setting or the after-school care program setting, or both, in King County;

                     14.  Zamzam Mohamed, who resides in district two, as a representative of an organization representing the interest6s of immigrant or refugee communities in King County;

                     15.  Theressa Lenear, who resides in district nine, as a representative of a nonprofit organization providing training and professional development for family child care providers and family, friend and neighbor child care providers in King County;

                     16.  Laura Kneedler, who resides in district eight, as a representative of an organization representing the needs of children with developmental delays or disabilities;

                     17.  Wendy Harris, who resides in district two, as a representative from the King County best starts for kids team in the department of community and human services or the department of public health;

                     18.  Nancy Ashley, who resides in district four, as a representative of an advocacy organization representing parents, early learning, foster care youth and expanded learning opportunity interests in King County;

                     19.  Omana Imani, who resides in district two, as a representative of an advocacy organization representing parents, early learning, foster care youth and expanded learning opportunity interests in King County;

                     20.  Allison Krutsinger, who resides in district eight, as a representative of an advocacy organization representing parents, early learning, foster care youth and expanded learning opportunity interests in King County;

                     21.  Paula Steinke, who resides in district three, as a representative of an advocacy organization representing parents, early learning, foster care youth and expanded learning opportunity interests in King County;
