A MOTION declaring the intention of the King County council to reduce the final assessment roll and confirm the reassessment roll for King County Road Improvement District 130, and set the date for a public hearing.

WHEREAS, King County Ordinance 14244 passed by the King County council on October 29, 2001, established King County Road Improvement District 130 ("RID 130") and confirmed the final assessment roll, and
WHEREAS, the construction of the improvement project for which the district was created has now been completed and the total costs and expenses of the project can be predicted with reasonable accuracy, and
WHEREAS, the total costs and expenses of the project are less than previously predicted, and
WHEREAS, the manager of the road services division has determined the total to be assessed against all parcels therein to be $28,792.50, and
WHEREAS, RCW 36.88.100 grants the authority to the council to establish a reassessment to properties in the same manner and subject to the same limitations as are provided for in making reassessments for local improvement districts in cities and towns, and
WHEREAS, the manager of the road services division has prepared and filed said reassessment roll;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED BY THE Council of King County:
A. The council hereby states its intention to hold a public hearing pursuant to RCW 36.88.090 for the purpose of considering the amendment of the RID 130 assessment roll created in King County Ordinance 14244 and confirming the RID 130 reassessment roll which is on file with the clerk of the council. Said hearing is scheduled for June 23, 2003, at 1:30 p.m. or soon thereafter in Room 1001 of the King County Courthouse, Seattle, Washington.
B. At the hearing, the council will sit as a board of equalization for the purpose of considering said reassessment roll, and will consider such written objections as made thereto, or any part thereof related to the portion of reassessment. The council may correct, revise, raise, lower, change, or modify said roll or part thereof, or may set aside said roll and make the reassessments de novo so that they are just and equitable, and then will proceed to confirm the same by ordinance.
C. The clerk of the council is hereby authorized and directed to give notice of
said public hearing by publication and by mailing at the times and in the manner described in RCW 36.88.090.
