Title

A MOTION approving a report in compliance with the 2017-2018 Biennial Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 18409, Section 100, Proviso P1, on implementation and funding strategies for on-site sewage system program operation and maintenance activities by the environmental health services division of Public Health - Seattle & King County.

Body

                     WHEREAS, the 2017-2018 Biennial Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 18409, Section 100, Proviso P1, requires the executive to transmit a plan for funding and implementing strategies to expand the environmental health services division of Public Health - Seattle & King County's on-site sewage, or OSS, program's operation and maintenance program, and

                     WHEREAS, the report includes the following:

                     1.  Review of on-site sewage system oversight activities and funding in comparable jurisdictions;

                     2.  Review of the feasibility and cost to partner with an independent third party to proivde loans or other financial supports to homeowners for on-site sewage maintenance and repair; and

                     3.  Review of the feasibility and sustainability of funding strategies to support ongoing on-site sewage program activities focused on preventing and addressing on-site sewage failure, and

                     WHEREAS, the executive is further required to submit a motion that approves the report;

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:

                     The report on implementation and funding strategies for on-site sewage system program operation and maintenance activities by the environmental health services division of Public Health - Seattle & King County, which is Attachment A to this motion,

in compliance with the 2017-2018 Biennial Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 18409 Section 100, Proviso P1, is hereby approved.
