A MOTION adopting the Cedar River Capital Investment Strategy.

WHEREAS, the King County Flood Control Zone District initiated the Cedar River Corridor Planning Process in 2014, and
WHEREAS, for the purposes of the corridor planning process the Cedar River Corridor consists of twenty-two miles of the Cedar River valley, from Landsburg Road SE to Lake Washington, and
WHEREAS, the King County water and land resources division has conducted analysis of the physical, biological, and social conditions of the Cedar River Corridor, identified of the location and severity of flood and erosion risks on the corridor; identified and consulted with the multiple interests along the corridor including environmental and recreational interests; and developed a comprehensive list of capital projects addressing the most critical flood and erosion risks to life and property along the Cedar River Corridor, and
WHEREAS, throughout the planning process, the King County water and land resources division engaged in a robust public process including convening an advisory committee, participating in a recreation workshop and hosting open house style meetings, and
WHEREAS, the Cedar River Capital Investment Strategy is a strategic comprehensive prioritized or "worst first" list of capital projects along the Cedar River Corridor, and
WHEREAS, the District desires to provide the King County water and land resources division with policy direction for the creation of the District's 2017 midyear budget reallocation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE KING COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT:
SECTION 1. The Flood Control Zone District executive committee adopts the
Cedar River Capital Investment Strategy, as set forth in Attachment A to this motion, titled Cedar River Capital Investment Strategy.
