Title

A MOTION appointing committees to write the voters' pamphlet statements for and against Proposition 1 placed on the ballot by Ordinance 18513 for the August 1, 2017, election.

Body

                     WHEREAS, K.C.C. chapter 1.10 provides for the publication and distribution of local voters' pamphlets in conformity with chapter 29A.32 RCW for annual general elections held in King County, and

                     WHEREAS, RCW 29A.32.280 provides that for each measure from a unit of local government that is included in a local voters' pamphlet, the legislative authority of that jurisdiction shall formally appoint a committee to prepare arguments advocating voter approval of the measure and a committee to prepare arguments advocating voter rejection of the measure, and

                     WHEREAS, Ordinance 18513, enacted on May 2, 2017, provided for submission to the voters at the August 1, 2017, special election of a proposition authorizing a one-tenth of one percent sales and use tax for a period of seven consecutive years to finance the King County Access for All program to improve public access to programs produced by arts, science and heritage organizations;

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:

                     Pursuant to RCW 29A.32.280, the following individuals are appointed to serve on the voters' pamphlet committees for Proposition 1 placed on  the ballot by Ordinance 18513, each committee to write a statement for or against the proposed amendment, for the August 1, 2017, special election:
