A MOTION terminating the Executive Director's employment, effective March 23, 2015.

WHEREAS, the King County Flood Control Zone District and Mark Hoppen, Executive Director, entered into an Employment Agreement effective May 7, 2014 ("Employment Agreement"); and
WHEREAS, by letter dated March 17, 2015, the Executive Director resigned as of May 7, 2015, but requested to leave his position early on March 31, 2015, or sooner if possible; and
WHEREAS, Section 9 of the Employment Agreement authorizes the Executive Committee to terminate the Executive Director's employment before the resignation date, by paying to the Executive Director his regular base salary through the resignation date; and
WHEREAS, the Executive Committee has determined that terminating the Executive Director's employment on March 23, 2015 is in the best interests of the District; now, therefore,
BE IT MOVED BY THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE KING COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT:
The employment of Mark Hoppen, Executive Director, is terminated effective on March 23, 2015.
