A MOTION relating to the assumption of the Ferry District by King County, and authorizing the chair of the board of supervisors to execute documents and issue notices and directives to implement the assumption.
Body
WHEREAS, in furtherance of chapter 35.150 RCW, the King County council on November 10, 2014 passed Ordinance 17935, which abolished the King County Ferry District ("District") board of supervisors and assumed the rights, powers, immunities, functions and obligations of the District, effective January 1, 2015; and
WHEREAS, in order to implement and carry out the assumption, the District must approve and execute certain documents and issue certain notices and directives; and
WHEREAS, to facilitate a smooth and efficient assumption, the board of supervisors desires to authorize the chair of the board to approve and execute documents and issue notices and directives related to the assumption; now, therefore
BE IT MOVED by the Board of Supervisors of the King County Ferry District:
The chair of the board of supervisors is authorized to approve and execute necessary documents, including but not limited to bills of sale, assignments and contract amendments, and to issue necessary notices and directives, in order to implement and carry out King County's assumption of the King County Ferry District's rights, powers, immunities, functions and obligations.
