Title
A RESOLUTION approving an agreement with the Washington State Department of Transportation Ferries Division to reimburse the Ferries Division for certain design and pre-construction costs related to the new Passenger Only Ferry Terminal.
Body
WHEREAS, the King County Ferry District ("District") is currently operating water taxi and passenger-only ferry service from a passenger-only ("POF"") terminal at Pier 50; and
WHEREAS, the Washington State Department of Transportation Ferries Division ("WSF") plans to replace the Pier 52 Terminal and the Pier 50 POF terminal with a new Seattle Multimodal Terminal ("Multimodal Terminal"), which will require removal of the current Pier 50 POF terminal; and
WHEREAS, the District is in the process of designing a new POF terminal that will be incorporated into the Multimodal Terminal; and
WHEREAS, since September 2012, WSF has expended funds and provided staff services to include the new POF terminal in the design and preconstruction work of the Multimodal Terminal, which funds and services have benefited the District by ensuring that the new POF terminal is integrated properly into the Multimodal Terminal; and
WHEREAS, King County, as service provider for the District, has obtained grant funding to pay for the cost of design and pre-construction work for the new POF Terminal; and
WHEREAS, the District board of supervisors desires to reimburse WSF for funds expended and staff services provided from September 2012 to July 7, 2014 to include the new POF terminal in the Multimodal Terminal; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE KING COUNTY FERRY DISTRICT:
SECTION 1. The chair of the King County Ferry District is authorized to enter into the "Reimbursement Agreement No. GCB 1934 RE: Certain Pre-Construction Work
for New Passenger-Only Ferry Terminal at Seattle Multimodal Terminal" dated 10-22-14, Attachment A to this resolution.
