Title
A RESOLUTION relating to the operations and finances of the King County Flood Control Zone District; authorizing the expenditure of District funds for projects and activities in Water Resource Inventory Areas 7 (the King County portion), 8, 9 and 10 (the King County portion).
Body
WHEREAS, the King County Flood Control Zone District's ("District") comprehensive plan prioritizes expanded partnerships and collaborations with watershed forums; and
WHEREAS, the District's comprehensive plan emphasizes the consideration of fish and wildlife habitat when managing flood-risk; and
WHEREAS, the District seeks to protect public safety and promote the recovery of native salmon species; and
WHEREAS, the District adopts an annual work program, budget, operating budget for King County, capital budget, and six-year capital improvement program pursuant to chapter 86.15 RCW; and
WHEREAS, the District desires to continue funding watershed resource inventory area ("WRIA") activities and projects, that are identified using a process for awarding WRIA grants in which the WRIA forums make grant recommendations to the District and the King County water and land resources division administers the grant processes; and
WHEREAS, in establishing the District's 2014 budget, the District provided $4,023,674 in funding for projects and activities in WRIA 7 (the King County portion), WRIA 8, WRIA 9 and WRIA 10 (the King County portion); now, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE KING COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT:
Section 1. The Board authorizes the funding of water quality and water resources and habitat restoration projects and activities, as follows:
A. WRIA 7 (King County portion) Snoqualmie Forum 2014 - $798,862, as shown on Attachment A of this resolution;
B. WRIA 8 Lake Washington -Cedar-Sammamish Watershed 2014 - $1,294,558 with carryover to 2015 of $225,283, as shown on Attachment B of this resolution;
