A MOTION accepting a low-income fare program implementation plan, as required by Ordinance 17757, Section 4.A.1.

      WHEREAS, Ordinance 17757 revised rates of fare and instituted a program for low-income transit fares, and
      WHEREAS, Ordinance 17757, Section 5, provides the authority to the director of transportation to implement and administer a low-income transit fare program using the existing smart card One Regional Card for All, also known as ORCA, system with the eligibility threshold for the low-income fare set at two hundred percent of the federal poverty level, and
      WHEREAS, Ordinance 17757, Section 4.B, provides that the executive is to transit to the council by June 1, 2014, a low-income fare implementation program plan, and
      WHEREAS, Ordinance 17757, Section 13, created a low-income fare program implementation task force that will review the implementation plan and submit a report to the council and executive by August 15, 2014;
      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
      The King County Council acknowledges acceptance of the low-income fare program implementation plan, which is Attachment A to this motion.
