Title

AN ORDINANCE authorizing the county executive to execute an interlocal agreement between King County and the Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority for full-time transit police services.

Body

STATEMENT OF FACTS:

1.  The Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority, which is also known as Sound Transit, has a full-time transit police services contract in place with the county.

2.  That contract expires December 31, 2013.

3.  Sound Transit and the county desire to enter into a new contract beginning January 1, 2014.

4.  Participation in the agreement is to the benefit of the citizens of King County.

                     BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KING COUNTY:

                     SECTION 1.  The county executive is hereby authorized to execute an

agreement, substantially in the form of Attachment A to this ordinance, with the Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority to provide transit policing services.
