A MOTION approving the Final Annual King County Health Reform Initiative Measurement & Evaluation Report.

WHEREAS, the goals of the King County Health Reform Initiative are to improve the long-term health of King County's employees, reduce the rate of growth in King County's health care costs over the period of 2007-2009, and determine whether employee productivity increases as a result of improvement in health, and
WHEREAS, the council through Motion 12131 adopted in May 2005 approved the business case and requested the executive to provide by September 1, 2005, an evaluation program design prepared by a consultant to assess the effectiveness of each of the internal Health Reform Initiative programs and strategies, and
WHEREAS, Motion 12353 adopted in September 2006 established the production of and transmittal to council by motion of an annual measurement and evaluation report on August 15 of each of the five years of the program starting with August 2006 for 2005 data, and
WHEREAS, the Final Annual King County Health Reform Initiative Measurement & Evaluation Report for the 2009 reporting period has been transmitted to the council in conformance with all applicable motions and direction;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
A. The Final Annual King County Health Reform Initiative Measurement & Evaluation Report, Attachment A to this motion, is hereby approved.
B. The Health Reform Initiative is transitioned to an ongoing employee health and well-being program responsible for continuing the comprehensive, integrated effort to make a healthier King County workforce and more efficient, effective health care delivery system.
